Everything you need to whip up some tasty pancakes

Shrove Tuesday (or Pancake Day) traditionally was to mark the beginning of Lent and a chance to empty the cupboards using the last of the eggs, butter and sugar. This year Pancake Day falls on Tuesday 12th February and we have the perfect recipe and kitchen accessories to make tasty pancakes.

Our new handy storage jar with ceramic lid is a great way to store your pancake mix and once your mix has gone use it to store other kitchen essentials.

Pancake Jar £3.25

Try our tasty recipe:

You will need:
- 110g Plain flour

- Pinch of salt

- 2 eggs

- 200ml milk

- 50g melted butter

Makes approx 6 pancakes

To Make:

1. Mix the flour in a large bowl and add a pinch of salt.
2. Separately mix together the eggs, milk and butter then slowly add to the flour and mix well until it is lump free.
3. Leave the batter to stand for 15 minutes.
4. Lightly melt butter or oil the frying pan, once the pan is very hot add a thin layer of batter coating the base of the pan. Cook for around 30 seconds each side.  (For fun try flipping your pancakes in the air)

5. Stack the pancakes between sheets of greaseproof paper and keep them warm.

To top off your pancakes eat with lemon and sugar for a traditional treat, or try finishing with maple syrup, chocolate or honey.

Christmas Party

The Christmas party is over for another year and plenty of fun was had by all.

We started the day full of mud and mayhem, where we drove three different off road vehicles, 4x4 off road driving, Argo Cat and powerturn mayhem vehicle, unfortunately we ended up with a flat tyre so some of us had a go at reverse steer driving too.

Turn the steering wheel one way and the vehicle goes the other, we were also blind folded and had directions being shouted at us, unfortunately we weren’t allowed to say left and right, we had to shout rhubarb and custard!

This twin-seater kart was driven by two drivers , working as a team you had to steer around a track.

We each got a chance to drive a land rover around a very wet, muddy and steep track.

Chris and Jon driving the 4x4.

We arrived at the Belfry dressed to impress ready for a 3 course meal and to dance the night away.

We even managed to squeeze in the photo booth for a picture.
